Mattress & Foundation - Recycling Fee Policy for California, Connecticut, and Rhode Island Customers

In accordance with state laws of California, Connecticut, and Rhode Island, Oak & Sofa Liquidators is required to collect a recycling fee for each mattress and foundation that we sell. This fee is to support each state's recycling program aimed at reducing the environmental impact of these items.

1. Fee Amount: The states have set the recycling fee at $10.50 for each mattress and each foundation. This fee is non-negotiable and mandated by law.

2. Fee Application: The recycling fee applies to each individual item. For example, if you purchase a mattress and a foundation (often referred to as a "mattress set"), a recycling fee of $21.00 will be added to your order ($10.50 for the mattress + $10.50 for the foundation). Similarly, if you purchase two foundations, a total recycling fee of $21.00 will be added to your order ($10.50 for each foundation).

3. Visibility of Fee: The recycling fee will be clearly itemized in your shopping cart and on your final invoice for transparency. It will be added on top of the price of your purchase, before the calculation of sales taxes.

4. Fee Purpose: All recycling fees collected go directly to the Mattress Recycling Council, a non-profit organization that uses these funds to collect and recycle mattresses in these states. For more information, you can visit their website at https://www.mattressrecyclingcouncil.org/.
